“Seal of Excellence” for 3P Engineering

Seal of Excellence” for 3P Engineering, the certificate delivered by the European Commission, as the institution managing Horizon 2020, the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation 2014-2020 and the biggest EU Research and Innovation programme aimed at securing the global competitiveness of Europe. 3P has received the “Seal of Excellence” for the project “Zero-Fowl”, Innovative Flameless system enabling zero-waste circular economy in the poultry sector.

“Zero-Fowl” was seen as one of the highest scorers of the high-quality project proposal in a highly competitive evaluation process, following evaluation by an international panel of independent experts, passing all stringent Horizon 2020 assessment thresholds for the award criteria: “Excellence, Impact, Quality and Efficiency of implementation”. The development of “Zero-Fowl” follows the project for the innovative pilot plant by 3P Engineering, “Chimera”, Chicken Manure Exploitation and RevAluation.

Chimera wants to reinvent the Chicken manure disposal process in farms; thanks to its innovation, Chimera has been selected to receive the EU financing of the LIFE programme. Nowadays, chicken manure disposal is two-fold: the waste is either given recycling plants to produce energy or directly unloaded or evacuated on the ground.

Costs related to storage, transport, and waste disposal are high for the farmer. Chimera is able to transform the chicken manure in fertilizer and thermal and electrical energy in the farm, for the sustenance of the company, according to the circular economy paradigm. Chimera is a “ready and easy to use” solution, which works in small farms or farm districts (poultries) and/or eggs production laying hen.

The plant is limited in size, and can be installed within any farm dimension.
